MS BASIC collection
I did several experiments with MBASIC, probably the most interesting ones are:
- the (almost) fully commented disassembly of the Microsoft BASIC
- the conversion of such basic to a ZX Spectrum +3 version with graphics instructions added.
https://github.com/z88dk/techdocs/blob/ … mbasic.asm
I unsuccesfully tried to reduce the command size to get it running on the unexpanded newbrain, but I could remove only very little stuff.
While doing so I noticed that the late MS BASIC versions run well on the expanded NewBrain, thus digging out of my MBASIC collection the BASIC-85 v5.29 I noticed that the only thing to fix was the (C) symbol in the startup message.
Is it of any interest ? Is there a repository somewhere (e.g. on GitHub) where small programs can be updated ?
I vaguely remember I played a little with the NewBrain graphics ant that it impacts painfully on the available memory, but perhaps something similar to what I did with the spectrum could be done on the NB.
