This is a new storage device with fewer components and using an arduino NANO instead of an Arduino UNO.
Bellow the almost populated board (i will make a 3d printed box to put it inside).

The 3d box prototype is ready! Files on thingiverse.

You will also need the following modules:
- LCD 16×2 with parallel to serial module
- SDCard module (5V support)
- Arduino Nano
Also some 3mm spacers for the LCD (4) and for the board (4).
Bill of materials:
- 1 MAX232 i.c.
- 1 Capacitor 100nF
- 5 Electrolytic Capacitors 1uF
- 1 Electrolytic Capacitor 220uF
- 1 LED Diode
- 5 Resistors 10KOhm
- 1 Resistor 320Ohm
- 5 tactile buttons 4-pin.
- An RS232 female PCB connector.
- 2 pin terminal block (for power)
- 4 pin straight SIL connector for the LCD
- 5 pin straight SIL connector for the SDCARD Module
Nano and sdcard module should be soldered on the PCB, no female connectors to save height.
The parallel to serial module of the LCD should be soldered on the pcb. The lcd parallel interface should have a female SIL connector connected to the male SIL connector of the Parallel to serial module.
You should supply the board, through the terminal block, with 5v power. You can install a barell power supply(5V) connector on the side and solder the 2 cables on the pcb.
*** NOT TESTED YET but it should work.
